     Report for field surveys October 2010

PROJECT “PREPARING A STUDY FOR VALORIZATION OF THE NATURAL VALUES OF MULTIPURPOSE AREA JASEN”
 

10.02.2010 year (Saturday)

Field surveys were conducted in the village Nova Breznica, located near Yassen. Research is dedicated to socio-geographical characteristics of New Breznica. A survey is conducted on the residents to get to the original data of past and present of this township. The results are valuable for the representation of contemporary problems encountered this population, and location of the priority issues that should be taken into consideration in plans for the future development of the village and its surroundings.
Another team from the research team did geomorphologic and caving explorations in the area Kopanje. We analyzed surface karsts forms (shaped depressions,) and detailed caving exploring (cave fauna, sketching, description, photo) of pits Peoni I, Peoni Peoni III and IV.

10.09.2010 year (Saturday)

After a preliminary permit by PEMPMA “YASSEN”-Skopje, the expert team of Exploring Society "Ursus speleos" Skopje, conduct field research  in localities: Kopanje and Shijovec (which is outside of YASSEN borders) .Main goals of this field research were, determination of the characteristics of karst landscapes and forests in Yassen, floristic features of the terrain, examining invertebrates, algae and exploring the surface, and especially the underground karst forms. From speleological aspect, only pits Shijovec I and II were partially explored.

10-11.10.2010 year (Sunday-Monday)

This weekend several sites in the multipurpose area "Yassen" were visited. First we have visit site Shiovec (outside of "Yassen”, on the borders) where we ended up already started research on pits Shiovec  I and II (measuring, sketching, description, photo). After that pit Propast, located in locality Propast was fully explored. In the afternoon through the road Kula- Blizansko the area of Yassen was left, and the next day (10.11.2010 year.) field surveys were conduct on the left side of the artificial lake Kozjak. Several small caves were recorded and sketched, near Lake Kozjak. In the higher parts of Suva Gora a pit and a cave were recorded, but because of bad weather (rain) they were not thoroughly explored. However, despite adverse weather conditions a good photographic material for landscapes was successfully made.

Upon prior permission from
PEMPMA “YASSEN”-Skopje, in the vicinity of Selishte were performed field research in the field fungi. Beside the expert from ES "Ursus speleos" Skopje, on this research also a German fungi expert took part. During this field research, a vehicle from PEMPMA “YASSEN”-Skopje was used. During the survey 80 species of fungi were registered. Developing tericol species with dominance of saprobes and micorisin types of gender (Suillus, Boletus, Amanita, Russula). Found several rare and new species in Macedonia.

10.15.2010 Year (Friday)

Upon prior permission from PEMPMA “YASSEN”-Skopje
, in the vicinity of Crn Vrv in the mixed pine and oak forest and beech forest are performed field research in the field fungi. Beside the expert from ES "Ursus speleos" Skopje, on this research also a German fungi expert took part. During this field research, a vehicle from PEMPMA “YASSEN”-Skopje was used. During the survey because of the excellent conditions for development of fungi, were registered over 100 species of fungi. Developing tericol species with dominance of saprobes and micorisin types of gender (Cortinarius, Suillus, Lactarius, Boletus, Amanita, Russula). Found several rare and new species in Macedonia.

21.10.2010 (Thursday)

In this field research a request for permission was not submitted to  PEMPMA “YASSEN”-Skopje
, because the plan was to explore the area called Rudine, which is not in Yassen’s borders. The aim of the research was pit called Kaj Kashkal. The pit was located, sketched; morphometricaly and geological decrypted, and photographed.

23.10.2010 year (Saturday)

After a preliminary permit by PEMPMA “YASSEN”-Skopje
, part of the expert team of Exploring Society "Ursus speleos" Skopje conducted field surveys in and outside the multipurpose area "Yassen". Areas, Kopanje, Rada, Urnat Kamen (in “Yassen”) and Shiovec (outside of “Yassen”) were visited. Aspects that were treated are tourism and karstology (surface and underground). From the tourist point of view the natural and anthropogenic objects were classified according to criteria: a curiosity, aesthetic value, recreational value and monumental value. From the geomorphologic point of view were recorded a number of surface forms (especially shaped depressions), and from speleological aspect was explored and recorded a very small pit   "Dupka".

10.24.2010 Year (Sunday)

Field research for this day were not logged in PEMPMA “YASSEN”-Skopje
because the road Skopje -Grupchin-Sedlarevo-Gurgurnica-Zdunje-Blizansko was used. First in the villages Sedlarevo and Gurgurnica were performed activities related to socioeconomic issues and flora. Then the expert team of Exploring Society Ursus speleos "Skopje in the interest of time and planned field studies had to divide into several groups. So one team explored the pit “Dren", the other team did caving and biospeleological research on Zmiska cave and the rest of the team did research on the left side of the lake Kozjak to the villages Zdunje and Blizansko. The treated areas were: flora, invertebrates, socioeconomic issues and geomorphology.

For this conducted field research, a permission from PEMPMA “YASSEN” - Skopje was not requested, because it was conducted in the area of the village Patishka Reka, in an oak forest. The forest had excellent conditions for development of fungi. The main emphasis is thrown on research in economically important and poisonous species. Approximately 50 species of fungi were registered. Many of them are tericol species with domination of saprobes and mikorosin species.

Conducted field research on socioeconomic issues in the village Patishka Reka, which is  located near the protected area “Yassen”, and its Attar touches the protected area. Also the surroundings of village St. Petka, were explored, which is located also on the border of the Multipurpose area “Yassen”.

10.31.2010 Year (Sunday)

Field research concerning field fungi are conducted on the following locations: Visoki Rid and Cer, which is an area with oak forest. There are excellent conditions for development of fungi. Many of them are tericol species with domination of saprobes and mikorosin species. Several rare corticoid species are collected. Approximately, 70 species are registered.
